Alerts

The City of Alvarado uses an alert messaging system called Blackboard Connect to reach residents in times of emergency or for important community updates.

Residents can sign up for a Blackboard Connect account on the Home Page or through this link and choose how they would like their messages delivered. With a multitude of options, residents can be notified via phone call, email, text, or a combination of their preferences when important information is available. 

Other uses for Blackboard Connect are as follows:

  • Emergency Alerts 
  • Community Event Information
  • Changes in Regular Service (Trash, Water, etc.)
  • City Offices and Facilities Closures
